What Are Cancun's Beaches?

Cancun's beaches are white-sand beaches with turquoise water located along the Caribbean coast of the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. They stretch across 25 kilometers in a number "7" shape, from Punta Cancun to Punta Nizuc.

Cancun welcomes over 6 million international tourists per year, making it the most visited beach destination in Latin America. Its beaches are world-renowned for crystal-clear water, fine sand (made of pulverized coral) and warm temperatures year-round.

Important fact: All beaches in Mexico are public by federal law (Article 27 of the Constitution). Even if a hotel faces the ocean, it cannot block beach access. There are marked public access points throughout the Hotel Zone.

This guide covers all the main beaches with locally verified information: real-time conditions, how to get there, available amenities, parking, best visiting hours and practical tips.
