Playa Coral is located at the far end of the Hotel Zone, in the Punta Nizuc area. It uniquely combines two features: it is the only beach that allows pets and holds Blue Flag certification, guaranteeing international standards of environmental quality and services.
The atmosphere is notably more peaceful and less crowded than the central Hotel Zone beaches. The beach stretches approximately 300 meters with fine white sand. The waters are intensely turquoise, typical of the Mexican Caribbean.
Technically, every beach in Mexico is public access — the sand up to the high-tide line is federal maritime-terrestrial zone, no matter which hotel sits in front of it. Pet Friendly Beach
Playa Coral is the only beach in Cancún that officially allows pets. You can bring your dog to enjoy the Caribbean Sea as long as you keep it on a leash and pick up after it. It is a space designed for pet owners to enjoy the beach without restrictions.

- Hot sand: At midday the sand can burn paws. If your dog starts lifting its paws or hunting for shade, it's time to head to a palapa or wet the sand before walking on it.
- Turtle nesting season: Roughly between May and October, sea turtles nest on beaches throughout Quintana Roo, including stretches near Cancún. If you see a marked nest or protective tape, keep your pet on a short leash and away from that area.
- Other dogs: Since this is the only pet-friendly beach around, it's common to find several dogs here at once. If yours doesn't socialize well, look for a quieter stretch of the beach.
- After the beach: Salt water and sand can irritate some pets' skin. If you're staying several hours, consider rinsing your dog with fresh water before putting them back in the car.

How to Get to Playa Coral

A taxi from anywhere in the Hotel Zone gets you there without transfers too, which comes in handy if you're hauling a pet and beach gear.
