Restaurants & Seafood

Puerto Juárez is famous for its seafood restaurants. Near Playa del Niño you'll find fresh fish and seafood at much more affordable prices than the Hotel Zone. Ceviche, zarandeado-style fish, garlic shrimp, and cochinita pibil are some of the must-try dishes in the area.

One of the great advantages of visiting Playa del Niño is the local cuisine. Unlike the Hotel Zone where prices are inflated for tourists, in Puerto Juárez you eat fresh catch-of-the-day seafood at local prices. Local fishermen supply the restaurants directly.

Restaurants along Avenida López Portillo offer everything from ceviche for $80-120 MXN to full seafood platters for $150-250 MXN — half of what you'd pay in the Hotel Zone for the same quality (or better).

Local recommendation: Order the "catch of the day" at any Puerto Juárez restaurant. It's the freshest seafood you'll find in Cancún, pulled from the sea that same morning. Pair it with handmade tortillas and habanero salsa.
